About me

I’m a full-time mom, part-time freelance writer, and recent transplant to the deep, deep, DEEP South (temporarily living in the Northeast for the 2011-12 academic year).

I love my husband (hereafter referred to as “Country-Fried Daddy“), my girls, and my new home, strange as I sometimes find it.

I have written for numerous other sites, including Deep South Moms; Work It, Mom!; WorkingMotherMagazine.com; NewParent.com; Four Perspectives and BirminghamMommy.com.

In 2010, I was a Blogher Voices of the Year finalist and a runner up for best local blogger, according to Birmingham Magazine.

When I’m not detailing the minutia of my life here, you can find me on Twitter or Facebook.

Hi CFM,

I am the (undoubtedly evil) ex-wife of David K. Ben and I were visiting Betty Anne today and were joined by Country Granny, Grandpa and “Uncle” David. I asked CG for pictures of her grandchildren and she confessed she did not have any with her, but referred me to your website. So, here I am.

Beautiful family, funny posts! I hope you will be very happy here. It sounds like you are adapting just fine. Say hello to CFD for me; he was still a punk teenager the last time I saw him forever ago. From what I hear, he left those days behind long ago, and you’ve got a good man and great father on your hands.

Now, I have my own punk teenager to deal with…

Hi, Laura.

Thanks for stopping by the blog! CFD has turned into quite a responsible Daddy, but there’s still some punk in there somewhere.

I hope Betty is doing better. We’ve been thinking of her.

(By the way, I edited some names out of your comment to keep the paparazzi off our trail.)

Yeah… I thought about the name thing after I did it, but knew there was no way I could fix it from here. I guess that just gives away my age, that I am not of the blog generation!

Good luck with thepaparazzi issue! They can be such pests.

Just found your blog, and I must say I was thoroughly entertained by your recent posts. Thanks for sharing your “business” for us other mommies to read.

CFM, just wanted to drop you a note to say that the blog is freakin’ awesome. And I’d say that even if we didn’t love you guys. Hilarious and thoughtful. Keep it rolling.

Hi, CFM –
Just found your site — love it. I’m also a Yankee transplant trying to make my way in a sometimes strange world.

P.S. Can you tell me where to find a good bagel? PLEASE.

Thank you for another great post. Where else could anybody get that type of info in this kind of a perfect way of writing? I’ve a presentation next week, and I am on the look for these info.
