How to Tweet your way through a conference

by CountryFriedMama on February 5, 2010

I’m at the Blissdom blogging conference in Nashville today at a hotel big enough to see from space.  Yesterday, I attended a few great sessions where I learned lots of geeky stuff, and one geeky truth: There are no secrets at Blissdom.  If you say it, someone will tweet it.

I couldn’t help but wonder if the straight-laced guys attending the Sherwin Williams conference down the hall were operating under the same rules as the women of Blissdom.  What would their Twitter stream look like?

Top 10 tweets from the Sherwin Williams business meeting at Opryland (a complete figment of my imagination):

1.  12 outfits in suitcase, can’t decide what to wear tonight.  You guys going fancy? Think I’ll go with blue slacks, button-down shirt.  Again.

2.  Sure hope my poor wife is doing okay with the kids on her own. I left her pre-planned meals. She’s so great to let me take couple days off!

3. Did you see @paintguy’s baby? So cute in his precious sling!

4.  My drink matches my feather boa.

5.  I’m stalking @cleanmybrushes. The things he does with color! Gorgeous!

6.  So glad to meet @corporateguy and @stevelovespaint! Y’all are CRAZY! Mixing blue and brown? Madness.

7.  Stayed up way too late with @paintcansmakegoodhats. Will be blurry-eyed for today’s staining seminar.

8.  Don’t miss the Wall Paper Is Bad session, y’all.  I’m speaking with @pinkisokay.

9.  Opryland unnecessarily large. Have gotten lost six times already, and can’t help but wonder: why is this whole place painted white?

10.  Have y’all met the women down the hall?  Bloggers are six kinds of freaky, gentlemen.  Steer clear.

I, too, love when my drink matches my boa. Hope it’s a great conference! And if you have a Harry Connick Jr. sighting, take pics and post them please. I will live vicariously.

That is hysterical. Now, what do you think the Tea Party people were tweeting?

I wasn’t at Blissdom this year (attended last year and in ‘08). But I was watching the #blissdom Tweet stream this year and contributed a TON to it last year when I did attend.

And this was SO TRUE! :)

Because you asked so nicely, I Stumbled it, too. Yay!

Yeah right. Like any traveling husband would actually leave premade meals for his wife. Oops, guess I’m just a tad bitter.

Love the top ten list, though.

Hilarious! I often wondered what the other hotel guests were thinking, especially as I walked through the tea party area in my hot pink polka dot pajamas ;)
