Or maybe I can find her a really long leash.
These were the thoughts that went through my head the last time I lost sight of Miss D. in a public place. You can read more about it at BirminghamMommy.com, where I’m hanging out today.

this reminds of the time I took both kids (with Mel) to the Jumpin Jack something-or-another…..where Miss D really disappeared and I frantically ran all around these enclosed houses and got the guys that work there to jump over the plastic walls and get her out!!
The kids climb up, and walk around until they find a slide or a doorway to get out. Very frightening . Mostly for me, she was fine.
But Mel was watching Belly and I still found it crazy.
Good thing you are like wonder woman!
I have 3 kids……9, 3 and 2. Needless to say, the youngest keep me running.
Over the summer, our 3 year old snuck out of the house …..hopped on his bike and ended up at the entrance of our neighborhood, pulling those little orange utility marking flags out of the ground on a busy street. Police were called. I was in full breakdown mode.
We have 4 floors in this house and had just moved in. It’s a split…..and it’s taken some getting used to. We thought he was in the playroom downstairs with his brother and sister and cousins who were in town visiting. We were upstairs cooking dinner.
I’ll never fully recover from it. The thoughts and fears you have during such a scare stay with you forever.
Good luck with the talk!
I so freak out if I can’t see the boys when we’re in a public space. Evan hasn’t met a stranger, and Sean is so quiet and shy. I’m all about full mama bear mode in public.
